4.8 billion euros in Germany, 121.6 billion dollars in the USA and 1.77 billion dollars worldwide – shrinkage in the retail trade is at an all-time high. Thefts by customers, both organized and opportunistic, are primarily responsible for this. To increase preventive anti-theft protection in the store, retail specialist Wanzl is now offering retailers a new, even more effective gate solution with the Galaxyport Pro.
Galaxyport Pro: physically and psychologically strong
Gates at entrances and exits should be used as a standard security measure in every store as a psychological deterrent. The new Wanzl Galaxyport Pro is particularly effective physically, especially when combined with a direct connection to partitions of the same height. Its toughened safety glass swivel arms – up to 1,800 mm / 70.9 inches in height and almost down to floor level – prevent people from climbing over or crawling under, and at the same time make it difficult to pass stolen goods over them. Combined with state-of-the-art radar and camera technology for monitoring the swivel range, the Galaxyport Pro significantly increases anti-theft protection. Another advantage is the flexible passage widths of 1,000 mm / 39.4 inches, 1,400 mm / 55.1 inches and 1,750 mm / 68.9 inches – making installation in the store easier. The Galaxyport Pro blends discreetly into the store interior. In the standard version, the columns are available in four anthracite shades. Integrated LED lighting in the swivel arms – blue in the original position and red in the event of an alarm – guide customers in a friendly way. Individual variants from a batch size of 25 units are available as an option. The Galaxyport Pro can of course also be integrated into wanzl connect. The cloud-based software platform acts as a store manager and provides a modular, digital toolbox for the real-time control and analysis of all processes in the store. The Galaxyport Pro will play a key role in Wanzl’s innovative Smart Exit for self-checkout zones. Wanzl relies on artificial intelligence instead of random checks and receipt scans. The AI sensor system scans and verifies every customer step at the checkout – from product registration to leaving the store – and communicates with cameras and gate systems. The Galaxyport Pro only opens once it has been ensured that the goods have been paid for.
