Customer theft, both organised and spontaneous, is the main cause. Retail specialist Wanzl now offers retailers a new, even more effective gate solution in the form of the Galaxyport Pro to improve preventive anti-theft protection in the store.
Galaxyport Pro: Physically and mentally strong
As a standard security measure, gates at entrances and exits should be used as a psychological barrier in every store. The new Wanzl Galaxyport Pro is particularly effective as a physical barrier, especially in combination with a direct connection to room partitions of the same height. Up to 1,800mm high and almost floor-deep, its ESG swivel arms prevent people from climbing over and crawling under the gate and make it difficult to hand over stolen goods. Combined with the latest radar and camera technology to monitor the swivel range, the Galaxyport Pro significantly increases anti-theft protection. Another advantage is the flexible passage widths of 1,000 mm, 1,400 mm and 1,750 mm, which facilitate in-store installation. The Galaxyport Pro blends discreetly into the store interior. The columns are available in four standard anthracite colours, with LED lighting integrated into the swivel arms – blue in the normal position and red in the event of an alarm – to help guide customers. Custom variations are available on request for order quantities above 25 units. Of course, the Galaxyport Pro can also be integrated into wanzl connect. The cloud-based software platform acts as a store manager and provides a modular, digital toolbox for the real-time control and analysis of all processes in the store. The Galaxyport Pro plays an important role in Wanzl's innovative Smart Exit for self-checkout zones. Instead of randomly checking and scanning receipts, Wanzl relies on artificial intelligence. An AI sensor system scans and verifies every customer step at the checkout – from product registration to leaving the store – and communicates with cameras and gate systems. The Galaxyport Pro will not open until it has been ensured that goods have been paid for.
