Wanzl Diner at IBA 2018

Demand for processed luxury food and groceries is still high

Wanzl will present its efficient, market-oriented and customisable baking solutions at the IBA in September. The Wanzl Diner – a presentation area styled like an American diner – will be in attendance at the leading world fair for the baking, confectionery and snack industry, in Hall B3/510.

Attractive baked goods presentation with BakeOff

Oven-fresh baked goods will be attractively presented to end users with the BakeOff models 3.0, 2.1, light and Donut Display. The modular sales system is flexible and can be adapted to quickly changing offerings with minimal effort. Distributed across four levels, they present baked goods in a way that gives the customer an ideal overview. At the same time, filling and cleaning the unit can be completed ergonomically and easily. In the BakeOff 3.0, the levels can be filled from the front or back, depending on the in-store setup. And of course all models offer hygienic goods removal, using either baked goods drawers, tongs, or disposable gloves. Handling is particularly easy with the BakeOff 3.0, as a soft-closing mechanism means that the hygiene flap provides enough time to remove the goods. The BakeOff light does not have a front flap, which means it also offers easy handling. The various hygiene levels on offer mean that the BakeOff meets the hygiene requirements of individual markets in Europe. An additionally available weighing cell has been developed in collaboration with Bizerba – making “out-of-stock” a thing of the past. This innovative technology informs staff in real time, via a smart device or headset, if a shelf’s stock level falls below a minimum quantity, and needs to be topped up. Alternatively, the technology can be linked to wanzl connect so that the re-crisping cycle for the oven is managed depending on stock and sales.

Correct placement of baked goods in the modules ensures high levels of impulse buying and increased sales. Oriented on the customer’s line of sight, arrangement from left to right is particularly effective: savoury and sweet snacks attract attention, followed by sandwiches in the middle section and bread in the right-hand module. The new Donut Display can also be positioned to encourage impulse buys. When placed at the end of a section, the freestanding tower with four levels and wood elements attracts a great deal of attention. LED lighting and large hygiene flaps fantastically set the scene for the store’s donut range. In addition, equipment elements such as an integrated bread-cutting machine, a refrigeration module in the BakeOff 2.1 and 3.0 models, and a keep-warm module in the 3.0 model increase comfort and enable ideal cross-selling.

Additional goods presentation systems

In addition to the BakeOff, Wanzl presents its pure tech and YourTable® products which are particularly well-suited to presenting pre-packaged specialities and snacks. The pure tech shelf system’s minimalist design keeps the focus on the goods themselves. Shelves which are delicate whilst also highly stable, and a streamlined upright give pure tech a contemporary and timeless appearance. Integrated smart sensors record where and how long individuals linger in front of the shelf, so this system also provides important information on the success of marketing activities. The multifunctional YourTable® sales table is extremely flexible and easy to build. The different models – the T.01, T.02, and T.03 – adapt perfectly to the needs of different goods. This strikingly designed table can be enlarged, made smaller, and equipped with additional accessories such as baskets or displays, at any time. It therefore offers interesting combinations and increases impulse buys.
