The BakeOff sales system perfectly presents your freshly baked goods directly in the retail area and makes customers hungry for more. Designed according to a modular construction principle, Wanzl developed the fresh goods presentation system together with its trade partners and with one concept in mind: all-in-one. Extremely versatile and highly efficient, the BakeOff can be individually adapted to precise customer requirements, to the range of fresh, baked goods, to differing processes and to the space available in the respective store. Wanzl offers the SideRack as a supplementary element to enable the appealing presentation and sale of packed, baked goods. The basic SideRack unit is equipped with three levels as well as a basket and it offers the option to be flexibly enhanced by additional attachment modules.  

Freshly baked – a retail island

The modern design, also available in the store's CI style, impresses with its high-quality appearance: a host of natural wood finishes are available for the main structure; coloured profiles create emphasis and act as an eye-catcher for baked goods. The module colours are specially adapted for the baking section and provide the perfect stage for the products themselves. The variable BakeOff system (in conjunction with the SideRack enhancement module upon request) turns the baked goods section into an attractive, appealing oasis of freshness in the form of a retail island that will integrate perfectly into the look of a range of different stores, from self-service stores, to high-end supermarkets, to discount stores. The presentation generates a desire to buy, the customers are compelled to do so and this in turn leads to increased revenue.  

 

Convenient dispensing of goods

BakeOff features all the dispensing modules required to present goods in a varied and perfectly arranged manner, from rustic bread to delicate pastries. Customers hygienically remove goods using pastry tongs and other utensils. Following the removal of goods, the remaining baked goods immediately slide down on the PTFE coating to take their place. The shock- and impact-resistant ESG glass offers maximum security during day-to-day use, with the cushioned access flaps ensuring a high level of user comfort and quiet operation. The energy-saving LED lighting provides the perfect backdrop for the products. A special saliva and sneezing protection feature and a function for preventing the return of removed goods comply with the strictest hygiene requirements.  

 

Efficient filling, hygienic cleaning

Another notable feature is the practical handling when filling with product: the dispensing modules can be operated by the sales personnel either from the front or behind, depending on the space available and the processes used in the store. Cleaning the BakeOff system is also a piece of cake: Wanzl has designed an innovative cleaning concept to tackle what can otherwise be a challenging and time-consuming task for retail dealers. An extendable central crumb tray beneath the modules takes care of the groundwork. Now just a little bit of cleaning work is required to ensure the immaculate, hygienic cleanliness of the BakeOff presentation unit. An ergonomically arranged drawer system for disposable gloves and waste box, bags and a vacuum cleaner all assist in the daily cleaning process. After all, the sale of unpackaged baked goods as part of a self-service set-up must meet the strictest of requirements. The new BakeOff system including SideRack has been awarded the "compatibility with foodstuffs" certificate by Bureau Veritas, one of the world's leading inspection, classification and certification organisations. Wanzl is also represented in the DIN standards committee for "Baked goods sections in retail".
