Intuitive operation & digital check-in
The Galaxy Gate 1.1 digital access gate is easy to operate, reliable, and can be equipped with various release units to suit the studio operator’s requirements. "The decision for Wanzl’s automated access system was based on the integrated biometric facial recognition at the gate, which enables easier check-in and ensures precise access control. The introduction of the gates is also very important for TopFit for insurance reasons," adds Melanie Gassner. Until now, the check-in process was still partly carried out manually using a transponder wristband with RFID technology. TopFit's facial recognition access process is currently being implemented gradually. Wanzl only needed one day for the installation of the Galaxy Gate 1.1, including assembly at the entrances and connection to the power and network. "The integration of the Wanzl gate went smoothly. Our members are also very positive about the new technology," says Melanie Gassner. Members scan their transponder wristband at the gate when entering and leaving the clubs, and the personal data stored is checked in seconds. Authentication for registered members will be even faster in the future using biometric facial recognition. If everything is in order, the software-monitored, electromotorized swivel arms made of toughened safety glass open immediately. "The Galaxy Gate 1.1 offers intuitive operation for fitness studio visitors. A continuous moving light facilitates orientation and signals the operating status of the system. When the system is operational, the light is green, and a green arrow is displayed on the front of the gate. If the system is not operational, the moving light is red, and a red cross will appear on the front, explains Andreas Fischer.
Variable passage widths & intelligent sensor technology
The opening angle of the toughened safety glass swivel arm can be quickly and digitally adjusted to different passage widths via the Wanzl Access Manager. If a supplier or wheelchair needs to pass through the gate, the opening angle can be adapted from 60° to 90°. Wanzl access gates are also equipped with integrated, intelligent sensor technology. This sensor system immediately detects if a person is attempting to gain unauthorized access. With Access Manager, the entire entrance area is visualized in real time, activities are logged, and statistics on alarms, visitor numbers, and passages can also be retrieved. To ensure greater safety, an emergency off switch immediately interrupts the opening or closing movement to protect people and property.
Expansion of the partnership between TopFit & Wanzl
Thanks to the Wanzl access system, visitors to TopFit clubs can pass straight through at the entrance quickly, easily, and conveniently without waiting. "Such easy-to-understand, uniform access processes have two advantages: On the one hand, new customers find their way around immediately, and on the other hand, modern studio chains such as TopFit can offer their members the same service at any location," emphasizes Andreas Fischer.
