A look ahead

24 new trainees at Wanzl

Wanzl has a clear vision for the future of Swabia as a location: at the start of September, a total of 24 new trainees launched their careers at the Wanzl plants in Leipheim and Kirchheim. On behalf of the management of Wanzl, Director of Technology Dr. Hans-Jürgen Sattler welcomed the 17 new trainees and students at the Wanzl CreativeCenter. These included ten industrial mechanics, four industrial experts, an electrician and two secondary-school graduates completing "Bachelor of Arts" and "Bachelor of Engineering" sandwich courses. At the same time, seven further young people started their careers at the Wanzl site in Kirchheim. Dr. Hans-Jürgen Sattler also drew attention to the above-average level of opportunities and prospects for training and career development for each individual that an internationally active, 3,700-strong family company such as Wanzl can offer.

Vocational skills for tomorrow

During his speech to the new starters, Dr. Hans-Jürgen Sattler emphasised the value of the training provided at Wanzl. "To remain successful into the future we need well-trained employees. We therefore want to give you the best training possible and impart the vocational skills you need for your futures.” He also highlighted the fact that for years Wanzl has been one of the largest and most successful training operations in the region. Around 100 young people are currently employed as part of an apprenticeship or a sandwich course of study, and graduates are regularly among those achieving the top results. However, in addition to the key technical skills, acting in accordance with certain values when interacting with colleagues and business partners is also a factor of key importance in terms of achieving career success: "Vocational training at Wanzl is based on respect, amiability, honesty and fairness," explained Dr. Hans-Jürgen Sattler when talking to the young people. He reminded them that they should never lose sight of the "people factor" in their professional lives. After the greeting speech, Michael Glogger, who is responsible for heading sales training, led the trainees on a tour through the Wanzl CreativeCenter, reconstructed in summer 2011. During the tour, the new starters discovered useful information about the organisation, the product range and the history of the company.
