Three of the world’s most exclusive holiday destinations have one thing in common – they have chosen to have the Wanzl luggage trolleys at their airports.
The Seychelles, the Maldives and Mauritius have all chosen luggage transport trolleys made by the global market leader Wanzl. In autumn 2011, Wanzl delivered 450 Travel 300 BL luggage trolleys to Seychelles International Airport on the largest island, Mahé. The model offers carefully considered detail solutions – the innovative brake mechanism in particular is a real advantage: the brake releases automatically when the space-saving trolleys are pushed into each other, with all castors remaining in constant contact with the ground. This technology means that it is particularly easy for passengers to remove trolleys from the dispensing area and for service personnel to move and manoeuvre the trolleys safely when they are linked together.
Several months earlier, in June 2011, Wanzl delivered 1,000 Voyager 3000 luggage transport trolleys for Malé International Airport in the Maldives.
The advantages of this model include its elegant appearance combined with first-class comfort when transporting luggage. Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport in Mauritius has already had several years of positive experience with Wanzl trolleys: here, Travel 300 stainless-steel luggage trolleys facilitate the luggage transport. The decisive factor for the three airports was the high quality of the materials and workmanship from Wanzl. All trolleys are made of aluminium or stainless steel and are consequently extremely durable, while their surfaces will remain spotless, making them perfect for use at locations close to the sea.
Travel comfort for Malé International Airport in the Maldives
Wanzl has so far supplied a total of approx. 1,800 luggage trolleys to the locations in the Indian Ocean. All the trolleys can be comfortably manoeuvred, steered as well as controlled and guarantee first-class luggage transport.
Southend and Bournemouth
Orders from British regional airports are on the up: Wanzl has delivered 150 Voyager 3000 luggage transport trolleys to London Southend Airport (see image) and a further 150 Travel 300 models to Bournemouth Airport.
The construction of a new control tower and a terminal as well as an extended runway mean Southend will soon be equipped to meet international standards. The airport is perfectly located for accessing the Olympic Village in Stratford and the City of London. The decision was also made to opt for Wanzl, over and above all the foreign competitors, at the fast-expanding Bournemouth Airport on the south coast of England.
The high product quality and excellent manoeuvrability of Wanzl trolleys played a key role.
