All eyes will be on the 61,000-seat Arena de São Paulo in June and July, with the opening match of the 2014 FIFA World Cup being played between Croatia and the hosts Brazil this Thursday. The Arena will also host three further group stage matches as well as a quarter-final and a semi-final in the weeks to follow. Home to 11 million inhabitants, São Paulo is the largest Brazilian metropolis and the country's financial and commercial hub. It is playing host to a total of six World Cup matches, and hundreds of thousands of football fans are expected to descend on the city from all across the globe. Exceptional quality "made by Wanzl" is already impressing these visitors as soon as they arrive at São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport thanks to 3,000 "Travel 300" luggage transport trolleys, which Wanzl supplied in good time before the tournament kicked off. This model is Wanzl's bestseller at many airports worldwide and represents the perfect airport partner for a football World Cup. "The "Travel 300" has a sturdy, spacious luggage support, rolls perfectly even when fully laden and is always easy to steer. The no-maintenance, self-adjusting brake was also one of the decisive arguments in favour of the decision to award the contract," comments Ralf Aubele, head of the Airport + Security Solutions division at Wanzl.
From Swabia to Egypt and Vietnam
Wanzl, the airport systems supplier and global market leader for luggage transport trolleys, recently brought home two further "Travel 300" orders. In July 1,250 luggage transport trolleys will be delivered to Hurghada Airport in Egypt, which is designed to primarily serve the tourism market. Wanzl luggage trolleys have already been rolling through the airport since 2008 and the Swabian company has again won the latest call for tenders. A delivery of 1,500 luggage transport trolleys will follow in September to the new reference customer Nội Bài Airport in Hanoi, the second-largest airport in Vietnam which is due to open its Terminal 2 in the autumn. "These major orders are yet another testament to Wanzl's position as the global market leader for luggage transport trolleys," comments Gottfried Wanzl, managing partner of the Wanzl Group. The "made by Wanzl" luggage transport trolleys are manufactured at the company's production sites in Leipheim and Kirchheim, "by specialists that ensure absolute compliance with the consistently high, premium quality standards for Wanzl's products."
