How does a specialist installer convince customers of their expertise? One way would be by showcasing their own new building. Nutz GmbH, as a specialist in building automation and electro, data, media and security technology, has seized this opportunity with its new building and created a strong reference. For its security solutions, the company chose to partner with Wanzl Access Solutions.
In the foyer of the showcase, white walls and ceilings as well as bright, indirect LED lighting create a perfect contrast to the matt black flooring. Thanks to the harmonious interplay between the modern oak reception desk and the wooden door elements, they create a stylish backdrop for Wanzl’s modern entrance system. The foyer’s key element is the centrally situated, stylish Galaxy Gate access system flanked by one Galaxyport dedicated access system on each side. The transparent ESG safety glass allows a view of the flush wooden door frame, which lends the room an additional dynamic element. “When selecting the access system for our showcase, we had high design requirements so as to achieve the best possible integration into our entrance area," explains Ewald Teuber, head of the Planning and Documentation department at Nutz GmbH and also responsible for project management and electrical planning for the new building. The Galaxy Gate has already received the German Design Award for its look that blends subtly into the modern interior thanks to its simple stainless steel design. The high quality of the materials emphasises the feeling of space, while the soft colours generate warmth and create a welcoming atmosphere for everyone who enters the building. The access system is a display model, the design and function of which guests can see for themselves on site.
A card reader for the authentication of access authorisations is integrated seamlessly into the frame of the Galaxy Gate, yet is still clearly visible. For effective handling, the operating mode of the access system is indicated by coloured LED lights on the ESG swivel arms. This convenient visual signal is also featured on the Galaxyports on either side, which also function as safe escape routes. “We deliberately chose a minimalist design with the Galaxy Gate that perfectly matches our distinct spatial concept. Of course, we let customers know that the Galaxy Gate can be customised, for example, by using the online configurator on Wanzl’s website,” says Ewald Teuber. For him and his colleague Stephan Sponer, head of the Security Technology department, further essential criteria besides the look had to be considered. Their requirements: “Our clients expect an access system to have as much functionality as possible and reliable technology. We must therefore ensure that we present to them what we consider to be the best individual entry separation systems with exactly these attributes.“
In line with the company’s motto “Technology from a single source”, systems integrator Nutz GmbH delivers fully integrated and tailor-made solutions for its customers. The showcase reveals its comprehensive service portfolio with Wanzl as a strong partner. “The open interfaces of Wanzl’s hardware enable simple implementation in a variety of security software systems. The controls via the central fire alarm system (BMZ) also function smoothly. By linking our guidance and security systems with Wanzl’s analytical software, Customer Counter CC, we can also record and analyse visitor flows using 3D sensors,” says Ewald Teuber, explaining the different dimensions of the collaboration. In addition, the combination of access systems is integrated in Nutz GmbH’s video management system. The system interacts with the access gate and thus allows rapid intervention in the event of a damage. It also reports unusual incidents so that any adverse events can be avoided before they happen. This holistic solution for networking buildings and access systems ensures the highest level of security and convenience.
The authentication process itself is secure and user friendly. The Galaxy Gate’s RFID reader ensures speedy processing. Employees place their transponder on the reader and the ESG swivel arms of the access gate open promptly, making access easy and quick. Reliability and highest quality are values that Nutz GmbH ascribes to and also expects from its partners in all project phases, from the planning and execution right through to service. Ewald Teuber is suitably satisfied with the collaboration with Wanzl: “The showcase that we created together with Wanzl is a resounding success for us. Thanks to this project, customers can see our quality and service right there on site. It demonstrates our competence as a system integrator and in our choice of a reliable service partner. Trust forms the basis of this successful collaboration which everyone can now see for themselves in our foyer.“
