Better advice and greater planning reliability in retail: Wanzl presents a solution at EuroShop that will enable the decision-makers of the retail industry to take a virtual tour of their stores in real time and HD image quality before construction has even begun. In order to use this economical solution, decision-makers require only the floor plans drawn up by Wanzl and a tablet equipped with the Wanzl app. The app is very simple and intuitive to use: the user simply holds the camera of the iPad or Android tablet over the floor plan. The store then appears on the screen – or for groups this can be on an external television – as a real-time, 3D representation. The decision-makers can, of course, then modify the shopfittings. Floors, colours, furniture etc. can be changed with a single tap of the screen. Detailed views can be generated by moving the tablet closer to the subject, and 360-degree panoramas achieved with the gyroscope or swipe function. Even individual units – such as the BakeOff presentation system for bread and baked goods or the flexible Vitable fruit and vegetable presentation unit from Wanzl – can be viewed in the finest detail on-screen. What is particularly noteworthy is that =the elements can be created in such a way that they can be used in another Wanzl floor plan – in real time, on-site or however the situation requires. For the operators of larger businesses in particular, this offers assurance that changes to the shopfittings at different locations will have the desired effect.  

A quantum leap for the work of the construction departments  

To ensure perfect presentation to decision-making boards, the plans can be used to generate videos in HD quality that can be viewed either in 2D or in three dimensions using commercially available 3D glasses. This enables the construction departments of retail companies to obtain, at a very economical price, a presentation resource with which they can explain the results of their work clearly, in minute detail and in a stunningly professional format to even a large or regionally distributed decision-making board.
