From the heat brought to the earth's surface through holes approximately 100 metres deep, to the photovoltaic system that produces electricity from the sun's rays, to the small and large green spaces that decorate the store on both the inside and outside: a store with more elements of nature than the Edeka store in the Albstadt district of Taiflingen is not easy to find in the retail sector. Store operator Klaus Koch has invested almost three million euros in his fifth and by far "greenest" branch to date. The result is an experience: not only does Edeka Koch Taiflingen appear at the top of every sustainability ranking, it is also a feast for the eyes of its customers.
Framed by light floor tiles and bare raw concrete walls, natural colours dominate in every shade of green, yellow and red
and provide a backdrop for the approximately 33,000 products offered on the sales area of over 2,400 square metres. With almost fifty percent of the space taken up by fresh produce – many of which comes directly from producers in the Swabian Jura – customers immediately feel at home.
Together with host Jutta Koch, Wanzl has bundled a whole basket of creative ideas into an extraordinary concept. The Wanzl signature is recognisable in a multitude of furnishing elements and details, as we also supplied the majority of the furniture!
