New XP, X2 and X1 security systems with RF and AM technology
Wanzl has recently launched its new "security system" product range. Three different systems are providing the highest levels of security are now available: the XP premium model, the X2 compact system solution for the checkout area and the X1 standard variant. The XP, X2 and X1 security systems use radio-frequency (RF) or acousto-magnetic technology (AM) for detection and operate at different frequencies – RF at 8.2 MHz, AM at 58 kHz. RF security systems mainly prevent the theft of textiles and clothing, while AM antennae are ideal for protecting electronic products, items containing metallic components and expensive spirits. The security system antennae used in the XP, X2 and X1 model ranges for both RF and AM technology constantly monitor susceptible passages. If an item with an activated security tag is within the antenna's detection range, an attempted theft will be detected. An acoustic and visual alarm is triggered immediately. If the goods have been paid for and the tags are therefore deactivated, the security system remains silent.
Double the security: how self-checkouts work
The XP premium version can be directly connected to exit gates, customer guidance systems and entrance systems from Wanzl. This provides double the security from a single source, especially at self-checkouts. Customers first scan the goods using the upstream self-checkout stations. Once all the items have been scanned and the goods have been paid for, a barcode receipt is issued. The next station is the exit gate, where the integrated scanner identifies the barcode receipt and the system allows customers to pass. The items are then checked again by the XP security system at the exit section. The combined exit gate system with barcode scanner and security system supports swift and reliable self-checkouts, can be combined with self-scan stations and communicates with all checkout systems without requiring additional PCs.
Single, dual, triple
The Wanzl security systems can be installed via the floor (the XP model also via the ceiling) in single, dual and triple versions that are tailored to the respective conditions of the space. Planning, installation and maintenance are all carried out by qualified service personnel. The XP version is available in different colours tailored to the design of the exit gates, customer guidance systems, entrance systems and the shop's interior decor.
GT26 eco shopping basket with security system
Capable of holding 26 litres and made from 100% recycled plastic, the GT26 eco shopping basket is the ideal companion for small shopping trips. To prevent theft and ensure that the practical basket is not removed from the shop, Wanzl equips GT26 eco models with security tags on request. Large advertising banners that can be easily changed are an eye-catching feature used in all three versions between the acrylic glass fronts containing the RF or AM antenna. The range of accessories includes permanent and soft labels as well as hard tags and bottle tags for electronic item surveillance.
